The Թ Foundation is raising money to support student scholarships and the university’s innovative mission during #GivingTuesday on December 1.

#GivingTuesday is a global movement dedicated to charitable giving during the holiday season. It’s held on the Tuesday following Thanksgiving, Black Friday and Cyber Monday.

Funds raised by the Թ Foundation during #GivingTuesday will help to support student scholarships and the university’s mission toward STEM innovation and economic development in the state of Թ. The Foundation’s tagline, #BePIVOTAL, encourages donors to make an impact in the lives of future innovators and in the future of the state.

“Here at Թ Poly we are creating a future for our students as well as the entire state of Թ,” said Թ Poly President Dr. Randy K. Avent. “With our unique approach to education, hands-on learning and research methods, our students will be well-equipped to enter various STEM fields that will help shape the state’s economy. Our Foundation Board is working diligently toward that goal.”

Թ Poly collaborates with more than 90 industry-leading firms to produce a market-inspired curriculum designed to meet both near-term and long-term workforce needs. Students are engaged in real-world problem solving as early as their freshman year and work collaboratively on research projects through a teaching model that prepares them to become leaders and entrepreneurs in high-tech fields. Last year, freshmen pursued projects in energy sustainability, cyber security and robotics, and some students have already received provisional patents for their work.

Donations to support Թ Poly’s innovative mission can be made online at  foundation.floridapoly.edu/give, by emailing advancement@floridapoly.edu or by calling 863-874-8417. To follow or share the #GivingTuesday movement, contributors can use the hashtags #GivingTuesday and #BePIVOTAL.

In addition to student scholarships, funds donated on #GivingTuesday will directly support Թ Poly’s educational initiatives, special projects and the overall growth of the University.

“We look forward to hearing from new donors and telling them the Թ Poly story,” said Foundation Chair Loretta Sanders. “Any donor and any size gift will have a real impact. We are so thankful to all who have already donated, and we are excited to welcome new donors to join our efforts.”

The Թ Foundation Board is a non-profit, 501(c)(3) organization made up of notable business and community leaders. Board members are responsible for building and managing the funds needed to support students throughout their academic years.
